Antrim Township Municipal Authority Receives Franklin County IMPACT! Grant

Antrim Township, Pa. (DATE) – Antrim Township Municipal Authority recently received a $249,000 grant through the Franklin County IMPACT! Grant Program.

With this funding, Antrim Township Municipal Authority will extend a water line across Molly Pitcher Highway/US Route 11 in part of the Pensinger Road corridor on the south side of I-81 Exit 3. Krista Smith, of the Shangri La Community, said: “Our private water system process units are over 20 years old and in need of being upgraded. As a long-time provider of affordable housing in the growing Greencastle area, upgrading the water system by our own resources derived from lot rents is very difficult to afford. We are in support of Antrim Township Municipal Authority receiving the IMPACT! Grant to help extend the town water line across the highway to us.”

Funding through Franklin County’s IMPACT! Grant Program was available to nonprofit organizations, municipalities and municipal authorities located within Franklin County to support local recovery efforts in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Franklin County Commissioners distributed grants for 127 projects across Franklin County.

The IMPACT! Grant Program was made possible through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Chad Murray, Chairman of the Antrim Township Supervisors, said: “We are grateful to the Franklin County Commissioners for this grant and for supporting the project that leverages new infrastructure for logistics facilities to improve services for longtime Township residents and small businesses."
