Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA)

The Antrim Township Board of Supervisors and the Greencastle-Antrim School District adopted a tax abatement program.  The Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance (LERTA) program was originally adopted in 2012 and renewed in 2019.  The Antrim Township Board of Supervisors extended the LERTA progam at their regular meeting on 7/12/2022.  The Greencastle-Antrim School District is considering their participation in the programs extension.  Franklin County chose not to participate in the program but they may consider requests on a case by case basis.

Properties within the LERTA Zone as displayed on the below map are eligible to apply for the program.  Tax exemptions may apply when proposing new construction and for certain improvements to deteriorated industrial, commercial, and other business properties.  The Franklin County Tax Assessors determine the eligibility of the improvement and the applicable abatement based on the assessed value of the improvements.  Interested parties that are in the LERTA Zone should submit their completed LERTA Application to those indicated on the application.  LERTA applications may be filed when the Land Use Permit is applied for with Antrim Township.
