Spring/Summer Road Paving, Patching & Maintenance

Important Information for Residents & Motorists

The Antrim Township Board of Supervisors are planning several road paving, patching and maintenance projects this spring/summer season and we wanted to keep you in the loop, as one or more of those projects may impact your travel.

Starting April 29th, the Antrim Township Road Department will be assisting AAA Paving & Excavating (contractor) with the repaving of Barr Road (1st and 2nd Week of May) and McClanahan Road (3rd and 4th Week of May).  Repaving will consist of a leveling course to ensure the road is properly profiled and then they will finish with a wearing course to level everything out.  Paved and gravel driveways will be blended into the new road material for a smooth transition.  The Township will also be working with Ganoe Paving (contractor) to perform various patchwork across the Township, in addition to regular seasonal maintenance.  Russell Standard (contractor) will begin double chipping several roads (Pensinger Road, Marsh Road, and JoAnn Drive) at the beginning of June.

If there are any mailboxes or newspaper boxes that need to be moved out of the right of way, the Antrim Township Road Department will assist in relocating them.

The approximate hours of construction will be 7 AM until 5 PM.  Roads will be closed while paving (except for patchwork); however, residents, school buses/vans, and emergency vehicles will be permitted access.  Delays are anticipated, so please plan accordingly

Use caution as personnel and vehicles will be working in the area.  Please listen to the directions of the flaggers and paving personnel.  Your patience is gratefully appreciated during this road improvement project period.

Just remember, a short-term inconvenience is worth the long-term convenience.  Please share this information with your neighbors as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Roadmaster at (717) 597-3818, ext. 103, (717) 758-3916, or at cardinger@twp.antrim.pa.us.  Updates will be announced in June.
