Lehman Road Project

To all the Citizens of Antrim Township and the Surrounding Area, the Lehman Road Project update is as follows:

  1. The first step in repairing and rehabilitating Lehman Road is under way. Tree Removal and clean –up of debris will soon be completed around the Culvert crossing. This was completed as the initial step so the Engineers and Surveyors have a better view to determine what they have to design and know what to repair.
  1. The second step is to design the Culvert Crossing Stream Bank Restoration along the Conococheague Creek. This Task has been awarded to Martin & Martin Engineers of Chambersburg, PA.
  1. The third step is to review the Engineering Study and Design when completed and what Antrim Townships options are likely to be. Upon review of the design, application must be made to Pa DEP for issuance of a Stream Encroachment Permit.
  1. Upon issuance of the Pa DEP Permit, the fourth step would most likely be is to replacement of the Culvert and placing the Stream Bank Restoration through a Public Bid process.
  1. The fifth step would likely be to cut back the dirt bank on the East side and stabilize the Bank to facilitate widening of the Roadway.
  1. The sixth step most likely is to put in new storm water drainage piping along Lehman Road.
  1. The seventh step would be to reclaim the Roadway and resurface.

NOTE: The Lehman Road Project is a multiple Year Project. Barring any unforeseen circumstances from the Engineers and higher Agencies in Authority, the project will continue on a yearly basis as generally outlined above..
